How Safe are Calling Cards?

Calling cards offer convenience for the best rates while away from home. But what if your wallet or purse is stolen? How safe is your calling card in the hands of theives?

As long as you don't carry your PIN (Personal Identification Number) in the same place as your card - or worse, write your PIN number right on your phone card, you don't have much to worry about. With a PIN, your calling card has built in security detection, and someone who wanted to use your card would need to know the number.

Of course, like any credit card that is stolen, you should report your stolen card to your long distance company so they can make a note of it and cancel the account if neccessary.
